We offer many services related to the up keep of one’s property including holiday lighting, tree services, landscape design consultation and all stages of landscape construction. John Crider

John is Owner and founder of Crider Landscaping. John has been running lawn care maintenance businesses and has been a landscape contractor in the Chattanooga area since 2004. John is a graduate of University of Tennessee at Chattanooga where he studied Business. John is consistently learning and growing through additional education.

Hixson landscaper

Shawn Adams

Shawn joined our team in the fall 2017 and quickly proved himself as a detail oriented landscape manager. He is a graduate of Tennessee Temple University where he studied Business and Computer Science. He is now trying to learn all he can about running a small business as he wants to help grow the business into a multi-location operation. 


Matthew Dupee

Is currently studying Business and Theater at Bryan College in Dayton, TN where he is attending school on several scholarships. Matthew has been with us since he started working summers while in High School. Although he is limited due to his school studies we are glad he is still around during the summers. He is a proven Account Manager and works diligently to assist our landscape maintenance clients.

Seasonal Team Members

  • Maintains clients properties
  • Performs planting and related activities.
  • Moves materials and equipment and performs related duties to assist in landscaping and hardscaping.
  • Digs holes and trenches and excavates for hardscaping features using picks and shovels or related equipment.
  • Hauls or spreads topsoil, gravel, sand, mulch, or related materials using wheelbarrows and rakes.
  • Maintains a clean and safe work environment, including the work site and equipment


  • High school degree or GED is preferred
  • Ability to read and write
  • Valid Tennessee driver’s license and a good driving record

Seasonal Maintenance & Landscape Team Leaders

  • Operates a variety of mechanical equipment including but not limited to back hoes, bobcats, dingos, tillers, sod cutters, weed eaters, plant augers, chain saws, and drills.
  • Interacts with clients routinely answering questions and assuring client satisfaction.
  • Communicates clients concerns to management.
  • Plans and organizes the job, ensuring that sufficient resources and materials are available. Also ensures that job is completed in the most time-efficient manner.
  • Manages a team of two or more employees, including handling personnel issues on site and training employees on policies and procedures.
  • Maintains a clean and safe work environment, including work site and equipment.
  • Briefs supervisors and makes recommendations on job status, personnel issues, or client concerns.


  • Experience in the landscaping or horticultural field.
  • Has a working knowledge of standard horticultural practices, including but not limited to planting, pruning, corrective pruning, and fertilization.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, math skills, job planning skills, and mechanical aptitude are a must
  • Ability to operate a truck and trailer combination proficiently
  • Valid Tennessee driver’s license and a good driving record

Landscape Sales Professional

  • Generate new leads and conduct initial client consultation
  • Perform all phases of the sales/design process, including client meetings, cost estimates, proposals and project presentation
  • Organization of project materials and site details
  • Ensure accurate field verification, measurements and analysis
  • Coordination with clients, production and subcontractors


  • Degree in landscape architecture or landscape design required, or equivalent
  • Proficiency in Auto-Cad and Microsoft Office products; willingness and ability to learn proprietary software and other programs as necessary
  • Firm understanding of landscape plant material appropriate for the Tennessee Valley region; construction products, procedures and techniques; and proper planting techniques
  • Experience of installing plants and/or hardscaping materials a plus
  • Valid Tennessee driver’s license and a good driving record
