Keeping it Light

When it comes to painting a home not all colors are created equal.  Selecting the right shade is difficult enough, but increasingly difficult when trying to choose a paint color for a small house.  Which begs the question, "What paint colors make a house look bigger?"  Glad you asked.  Here are some quick tips and tricks to keep your home looking classy and larger than ever.

WHITE

By far, white reigns as the triple-threat of paint choices.  It is the most common color selected for small homes for several reasons. Not only is it the easiest color to match, but also creates the illusion of a larger home.  And is easy to personalize with a splash of bold color on accent features ( door, trim, shutters).

LIGHT PASTELS/ NEUTRALS

Coming in a close second, light neutrals and pastels offer a wide range of colors that will satisfy, while still keeping the home from looking small.  Ivory, light tan, beige, light green, pale blue, and sand colors are all good selections that are sure to please the eye without compromising color entirely.

LANDSCAPING

Landscaping can either 'make or break' a house. Investing  in a landscape package will not only tie all the loose ends and give the home a polished look, but will add that extra flare and drama that will make a house stand out above the rest Keeping it Light. On the flip-side, poor landscaping will make a home an eye-sore; reversing the efforts made to update a house and combating the hard work put in to make a home look bigger.  If unsure how, contact your friendly neighbor landscaping professionals at Crider Landscaping for an assessment.  When it comes to landscaping it is better to get it done right the first time.
